MUJERES EN LA GUERRA: UNA VISTA DESDE LA ARQUEOLOGÍA

Resumen

En este trabajo se aborda el tema de la participación de las mujeres en las guerras antiguas de diferentes culturas del mundo. Los roles de género, fuera de la esfera de la guerra, varían mucho transculturalmente, al igual que las diferentes formas que adopta la guerra dentro de las distintas sociedades alrededor del mundo. Sin embargo, el carácter genérico de estas formas es una constante que parece mantenerse prácticamente en todos los grupos humanos que practican la guerra. Sería difícil encontrar una sociedad en donde la guerra no existiera y, por lo tanto, los roles de género asociados a ella tampoco. En este trabajo se pretende teorizar el rol de género, enfocado hacia las mujeres, en las guerras antiguas.
