Abstract

The objective of this work was to identify the validity of constrcut of the Inventory of Infantile Stress (IEI) with the Scale of Social Skills for Children (EHSN). Two instruments were applied. First it evaluates stress (IEI) divided in three areas: damage or loss, scholastic and social. The second evaluates the social skills in seven areas: skills to be related to the others of warm and amiable way, to make friends both genders, skills to talk, skills related to the feelings, emotions and opinions, skills of solution of interpersonal problems, skills to be related to adults and skills to be related to opposite sex. 40 children between 6 and 8 years participated. The reliability of the instruments was high moderate. It was identified a negative relation between stress and social skills as it was expected. The results are discussed from implications of the utility of the IEI.
