Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original research to RMxAA. Each submission is first assessed by an editor for fit with the journal’s aims and scope. Suitable manuscripts proceed to peer review before acceptance or rejection.

Prior to submission, authors must secure permission for any third-party material (e.g., images, datasets). All listed authors must have consented to authorship. Research involving human or animal subjects should be ethically approved in accordance with local regulations.

Editors may desk-reject manuscripts that fail to meet minimum quality standards. Please ensure your title is concise, your abstract stands alone, and your study design and argument are clearly structured before proceeding to the checklist below.

Submission & Preparation

Submit a single PDF of your article and the complete LaTeX source (using the latest RMxAA macro), including figures and bibliography, plus a short cover letter, through our platform. Manuscripts must be prepared in English. Use the official RMxAA LaTeX macro available on Overleaf or GitHub.

• Manuscript conforms to these Author Guidelines.
• Not previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
• All references are accurate and complete.
• All tables and figures are numbered and labeled.
• Permissions obtained for all third-party material.
• All authors have approved the submitted version.

RMxAA LaTeX macro

All submissions to Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica must be prepared in English using the latest RMxAA LaTeX macro. Authors should submit both a compiled PDF and the complete LaTeX source (macro files, figures, and bibliography) through our online platform. A concise cover letter is required.
